Why Do We Use Digital X-Rays for Dental Care?

Digital x-rays are a central screening method that we use for all our clients. We take x-rays during your first visit and will take additional images on a needed basis either at the beginning of routine evaluations or when we need to diagnose a specific issue.

Using digital x-rays help our providers detect cavities in their earliest stage and/or infection that may not be visible to the naked eye during a visual examination. This type of medical image also shows any tooth that has not yet erupted, whether wisdom teeth in late adolescence or early adulthood, or your young child’s baby or definitive teeth. 

Dental x-rays are effective to monitor a possible need for future orthodontic treatment. Altogether, digital x-rays can capture symptoms of a broad range of dental conditions that we could not otherwise see until they reach a more advanced stage.
